Bajrang Dal leader booked for threatening to kill CAA protestors

A video of Tapan Pattnaik, Sambal convenor of Sambalpur Bajrang Dal in Odisha went viral on social media wherein he said that the Muslim brothers in the country and in Sambalpur have to abide by the CAA. If anybody failed to do so and tried to create disturbances, they will be shot at.

He further said, “If anyone defies the decision of Modiji and goes against him, he will not be spared and killed.” He also said that Bajrang Dal will be at the forefront of the fight to make India great again.

Bajrang Dal, Paschim Pranta, alienated itself from this controversial statement and the state convenor Sudhir Bohidar said that it was Pattnaik’s personal opinion and not of Bajrang Dal. He also expressed regret over the video saying that they did not wish to create an atmosphere of terror and appealed to people to support CAA in a peaceful manner.

A complaint was lodged by the Bhim Army after the said video went viral at Dhanupali police station under section 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC (Indian Penal Code).
