Press Conference on Tuesday (8-8-2017) to Expose the False Claims of the Government about the Benefits of Aadhaar

August 8, 2017
During the recently concluded hearings on privacy in the Supreme Court, the government made tall claims about Aadhaar ensuring food security for millions of people. The Prime Minister in February 2017, in Parliament, stated that the use of Aadhaar and technology had helped weed out 3.95 crore bogus ration cards.

However, experience on the ground and information accessed under the RTI Act shows that such claims are not backed by evidence.

To expose the myths propagated by the government about the benefits of Aadhaar, Satark Nagrik Sangathan, Delhi Rozi Roti Adhikar Abhiyan, MKSS, Right to Food Campaign are organising a press conference on Tuesday (08-08-2017) from 2.45 pm at the Press Club of India, 1, Raisina Road, New Delhi, India.

The press conference will be addressed by Anjali Bhardwaj, Nikhil Dey, Reetika Khera and Dipa Sinha.
