The Yatra began from Azad’s grave opposite Jama Masjid and concluded at Ghaseda Gandhi Gram, Mewat, Haryana.

Member of Parliament and President of Gandhi Global Family Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad was in attendance to flag off the Yatra. He said that Maulana Azad was a great leader who served the country till his last breath. He showered his blessings on the Yatris and the Khudai Khidmatgar movement.

The Yatra had Khudai Khidmatgar's from five different states. Ms. Jannat Faroqui (Delhi), Dr. Javed Choppan (J&K), Harish Moond (Raj), Qutub Alam (UP), Md. Javed Malik (Delhi), Adv. After every meeting, the people in the journey formed village units and executive committees of seven members in every unit. Khudai Khidmatgar also decided to organise a state level coordination meeting in December.

The Yatris were shocked to learn that many youngsters they interacted with while distributing pamphlets in Mewat region did not know who Maulana Azad was. In another incident, they had stopped to fill CNG in their vehicle but were overtaken by a speeding vehicle which had drunk men behind the wheel. They said that when the men saw the picture of Gandhiji on their van, they kissed and said sorry to them. They also hugged the Yatris and exchanged numbers besides clicking selfies with them.
