LUCKNOW: A third year student of KHWAJA MOINUDDIN CHISHTI URDU AND ARABIC-PERSIAN UNIVERSITY, Ahmad Raza Khan has been expelled from the college and barred from entering college premises for his social media post against CAA-NRC. Simultaneously the university has declared winter holidays starting from 26th Dec to 10th Jan.

The decision was taken at a hurriedly called meeting headed by Vice Chancellor Prof. Farooque Mirza. The meeting was also reportedly attended by the Registrar, Chief Procter, Examination Supervisor and hostel wardens.

But Ahmad said that he had posted this on December 17, before the protestors-police clash took place in the state and due to unavailability of internet he couldn’t remove the post. Speaking exclusively to SabrangIndia Ahmad said,” I just posted a simple a thing which had the first line of the preamble WE THE PEOPLE OF INDIA and appealed people to join in the protest.” Apparently the reason given by the university officials was that due to section 144 being imposed in the state he can’t ask people to protest (the reason can be read in the letter below). So what does he plan to do now ?” If my rustication will not be taken back by the university then I will approach the high court.”     He said.
