After thousands of trucks were stuck on the Kashmir - Jammu highway recently, bringing hundreds of crores worth of Kashmiri apples on the verge of decay, pictures have emerged showing orchards littered with rotting apples.
Kashmir's highway blockage for sudden 'repairs', has been widely blamed on an inept, and allegedly malicious J&K administration. When after days of protests, the trucks were finally allowed to leave, the ensuing snag had already left a ripple effect in Kashmir's orchards.
