Speaking to students and attendees at the 13th Dr. Asghar Ali Engineer Memorial Lecture on “Democracy versus Majoritarianism” on 18th November at Jamia Millia Islamia, Professor Prabhat Patnaik opens up about the undemocratic practices of the current regime and the convenient amendments to Acts that are brought in to suit their personal needs. He goes on to speak about the state of minorities living in this country and drew comparisons with other narcissistic, power hungry regimes that didn’t think about the welfare of people thereby butchering their economic rights, among others.
