Gujarat: Antarashtriya Hindu Parishad is stage for anti-Muslim abuse, trident distribution
The weapon distribution event was attended by a Member of Parliament Dipsinh Rathore, MLA Raju Chavda and members of VHP and Bajrang Dal; there has been no condemnation from Gandhinagar or Delhi

Pravin Togadia and his 'Antarashtriya Hindu Parishad (AHP)' team are screaming obscenities, bordering on threats of “marriage by force” with Muslim women. Leading these anti-Muslim Women speech at an event in Gujarat organized by AHP for distribution of 5,000 swords and tridents or trishuls, Praveen Togadia’s close aide Manoj Kumar said “tell these Katuw@s (slur used by the right wing for Muslim Men), Salma (as he called Muslim women) is waiting for her Bajrangis (Hindu men). Muslim men are not enough for her, she wants to remove her burqa and give birth to Luv-Kush" he went on to say that just “Hanuman is in the heart of Ram Togadia lives in his heart.” That the declaration of Kumar’s love for Togadia came after his instigating his supporters against Muslim women as if they were mere objects to be owned is telling. The disgusting speech went viral on social media.
At an event in Gujarat organized by AHP for distribution of 5000 Trishuls, Praveen Togadiya's aide Manoj Kumar says,

According to a report in The Economic Times dated March 13, the weapon distribution event held was attended by a number of right wingers as well as the area’s Member of Parliament Dipsinh Rathore, MLA Raju Chavda and members of VHP and Bajrang Dal. This weapon distribution event was named Trishul Diksha (or trident initiation ceremony) and was reportedly organised by the Bajrang Dal North Gujarat unit in the Swaminarayan Temple at Himmatnagar.
It was reported that “5100 people, largely from Sabarkantha village, were administered an oath towards the allegiance and protection of Hindu religion and culture and given tridents as a part of the Diksha”. The Bajrang Dal North Gujarat Coordinator Jwalit Mehta, reported ET has said that “similar programmes albeit in smaller scales will now be organised across other towns of the region in coming weeks.” After the event a rally was also taken out “across Himmatnagar town displaying their newly acquired trident along with swords and other weapons,” stated the news report.
Uttar Pradesh (UP), Karnataka and now Gujarat have become the targeted site of this everyday hate-letting which is often a precursor to acts of violence. It is also not insignificant that UP rode an election wave on this xenophobic hate; Karnataka goes to polls in 2023 and Gujarat towards the end of 2022.
