Amit Shah admitted at AIIMS for post-Covid care

The Home Minister had tested negative for Covid-19, hospital issues official statement

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, was rushed to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi  (AIIMS) early on August 18, when he is said to have complained of  “fatigue and body ache”. According to a health bulletin  issued by the hospital Shah had been complaining of these symptoms “for last three-four days”. 

“Amit Shah has been complaining of fatigue and body aches for last three-four days. He has tested negative for COVID-19. He has been admitted to AIIMS for Covid care. The Home Minister had himself tweeted that he tested negative for Covid-19 last week, adding that he would stay in home isolation as prescribed by the doctors,  “Today my corona test report has come negative. I thank God and at the moment I express my heartfelt gratitude to all those who have blessed me and my family by wishing me well.  Will stay in home isolation for a few more days on the advice of doctors.”

 

 

Shah, 55, had been discharged from the Medanta hospital in Gurgaon recently, where he had been admitted on August 2, after testing positive for coronavirus. The HM had himself announced that he had undergone the test as he was experiencing initial symptoms of Covid-19. He had then asked those who had met him recently to isolate themselves and get tested.

On August 14 he tweeted that he had tested negative and was now in home isolation. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Delhi, the National capital has 10,852 active Covid-19 cases as of August 18.
