AIDWA demands immediate action against saffron goondaism in Gargi College

The All India Democratic Women's Association (AIDWA) expresses shock and strongly condemns the harassment of girl students by a group of pro CAA supporters inside Gargi College on 6 February.

The incident took place during the three day Gargi Women's College Festival 'Reverie' was being celebrated. A group of pro CAA protestors passed by and broke into the premises. They scaled the walls of the college to enter it. They were drunk and shouted Jai Shri Ram slogans. They molested and manhandled the girls. According to media reports, some of the girls were locked up and groped in washrooms.

AIDWA is appalled to learn that the college authorities to no notice of the complaints of the girls. AIDWA demands that the police takes cognisance of the incident and immediately  bring the culprits to book. It also demands that the University look into the  insensitive and irresponsible behaviour of the Gargi college authorities. AIDWA expresses its solidarity with the girls and will pursue the matter further.

All units of AIDWA along with the SFI and DYFI will protest against the rampant goondaism by saffron forces in college and unviversity campuses.
